Qualitative projects

The Social Networks Project has collected a wealth of qualitative data in Kenya and Malawi. These qualitative data include:

- focus groups, and semi-structured and structured interviews carried out to inform the questionnaire's development before the beginning of the survey data collection in Kenya and Malawi,

- qualitative projects about conversational networks on family planning and AIDS, gender, sexually transmitted diseases and other topics,

- field journals kept by local observers,

- small sets of interviews to explore selected topics, including the reliability of male reports of extra-marital partners, faithfulness, religion, sexually transmitted infections other than HIV, and AIDS prevention methods in local clinics.

Transcripts of these qualitative interviews are available for download from the page of their corresponding projects (Kenya, Malawi or Transfers), or can be obtained from the principal investigators. In order to ensure confidentiality, the transcripts of the qualitative interviews available for public use do not contain the respondents's names and other identifying information.
